Customer collaboration

Customer forward signals into VYAN with confidence intervals. Better demand input. Better customer experience.

Customer demand signals today flow into the planning system as point values. "Customer-Alpha forecasts 1,200 units in Week 24." The signals are notoriously unreliable; planners discount them, buffer against them, or ignore them. The customer learns the signal isn't load-bearing and stops investing in its accuracy. Both sides plan defensively.

VYAN treats each customer's forward signal as a distribution to be weighted against the customer's historical forecast-vs-realized reliability. Customers who run consistent get their signals weighted heavily. Customers who run optimistic get their signals discounted. The discount is learned, transparent, and continuously updated. A customer that improves its forecast accuracy sees its weight rise in the buyer's plan — and feels the improved responsiveness in their own delivery experience.

What the customer experiences: order acknowledgment shifts from a flat "confirmed" to a confidence-interval-aware response ("confirmed at P90 service level given current supply state; tail risk to a 3-day slip is X%"). When supply becomes constrained, the customer is the first to know — VYAN's lookahead surfaces customer-impact early enough for the customer to adjust their own planning. Surcharges at pull-in time are dollarized and explained. Allocation under scarcity is rule-based and auditable, not discretionary.

The bidirectional value compounds. The buyer gets a richer demand signal, segmented by customer reliability, attached to specific Order Lines with full provenance. The customer gets predictability, earlier warnings, transparent commercial math. Both parties' planning quality improves. The relationship shifts from transactional (orders placed, orders fulfilled, complaints managed) to collaborative (shared signal, joint visibility, predictable commercial discipline). A lightweight portal — or a direct system-to-system integration for sophisticated customers — handles the mechanics, configurable per customer in the Publishing sub-policy.

VYAN's answer

The customer becomes a participating intelligence in the planning loop. Both parties' planning quality improves.
