Contract manufacturers
Stable capacity reservation, transparent schedule visibility, joint planning under VYAN's posture.
Many industrial customers run with significant outsourced production capacity — contract manufacturers, copackers, white-label fillers, machine shops. The relationship today is transactional. The buyer reserves capacity in monthly or quarterly contracts. The buyer drops orders against the reservation as needed. The CM schedules around competing customer demands. The buyer can't see the CM's actual schedule; the CM can't see the buyer's actual demand shape. Both parties plan defensively.
VYAN's contribution is to make capacity reservations policy objects with named postures. "This CM holds 60% confidence on 800 units/week, 90% confidence on 600 units/week, with declared confidence intervals on changeover and ramp." The CM's reliability distribution is learned over time from realized deliveries; the buyer's demand distribution is shared. The reservation isn't a flat number — it's a confidence-band commitment with mutual visibility.
The joint planning workflow is the supplier request-commit handshake adapted for capacity. When the buyer's Mode 1 solve identifies a supply event that needs the CM's capacity, VYAN sends a request-for-commit to the CM. The CM responds with their own commit confidence and any counter-proposals on quantity or timing. The handshake completes before the formal PO is placed. Expedites that today disrupt the CM's planning get surfaced in advance, dollarized, and either accepted with premium or rerouted to a different CM with capacity.
Over a year of running on policy, the CM relationship matures. The CM gets stable signal, planable forward visibility, joint participation in capacity decisions, and a defensible case for their own capacity investments. The buyer gets defensible capacity commitments, fewer expedites, transparent CM cost. The relationship becomes strategic rather than commodity.
Contract manufacturers stop being the buyer's external schedule chaos. They become participating capacity providers with mutual visibility.
